Impressions

Impressions are, in relation to advertising measures, the number of views or displays of advertising media such as ads, banners or videos on a website or in an app.

When an advertisement is displayed on a website, this is counted as one impression. It does not matter whether the user actually clicks on the ad or not. An impression thus provides information about how often an ad was displayed within a certain period of time on a certain platform.

Impressions can be an important metric for advertisers, as they provide information about how often their ads are seen on a platform. This can help to increase the visibility and awareness of a brand or product. However, impressions should not be considered alone as a success criterion for advertising measures, as they do not provide any information on whether users actually interact with the ad or whether they actually lead to conversions, i.e. actions such as a purchase.
